The final piece of the Tottenham puzzle…accelerating the signing of ’50 billion Hwang Hee Chan’

Tottenham Hotspur’s final signing of the winter is taking shape.

“Tottenham manager Enze Postecoglou has asked the club to sign João Gomes, 22, of Wolverhampton to help them win the title this season,” Brazilian outlet Flyweb reported on Friday.

Tottenham have performed well so far this season. After 21 games in the Premier League, they have 12 wins, four draws, and five losses and are in fifth place with 40 points.

They are within striking distance of winning the league. The current leaders, Liverpool, have 45 points. Only five points separate them from Tottenham.

This winter’s transfer window is all about reinforcements. With a thin roster, Spurs needed to bring in new players to keep their title hopes alive down the stretch.

The reinforcements came quickly. Spurs brought in Timo Werner and Radu Dragucin in quick succession to bolster their defense.

Now, eyes are turning to the midfield. According to this report, Tottenham have set their sights on Gomes to fill the void left by Yves Bissouma and Pape Sarr, who are away at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Gomes deserves to be at Tottenham. Despite his young age, he is a reliable defender and his neat tackling skills are his biggest strengths.

He is already labeled as a key player for Wolverhampton. He has made 20 appearances across all competitions this season and has been praised for filling the void left by the likes of Robben Neves and Matheus Nunes.

A move cannot be ruled out. Wolverhampton are reportedly considering selling some players to comply with Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations.

There is no guarantee of a signing. “Wolverhampton will not allow Gomes to leave for a transfer fee below €35 million,” according to Flyweb.
