Lee Sung-yong hailed the victory of ace Kim Kwang-hyun

SSG Landers manager Lee Sung-yong hailed the victory of ace Kim Kwang-hyun (36).

“I think (Kim) Kwang-hyun pitched well even in the worst situation,” Lee said in an interview before the game against the Lotte Giants in the 2024 Shinhan Bank SOL Bank KBO League at SSG Landers Field in Incheon on Wednesday. Anyway, he became a winning pitcher.”

Kwang-hyun Kim earned his seventh win of the season in his last start on April 30, allowing five runs (four earned) on eight hits, two walks and one hit batter over five innings with five strikeouts and five walks. He was shaky, giving up a lot of runs, but he pitched five shutout innings to earn his sixth win in as many games.

“I think he’ll get better in the future because he ended up getting the win,” said Lee, who added, ”I was really hesitant to make a change. There were a few times when I thought about making a change, but I thought, ‘Let’s go all the way,’ and Kwang-hyun did a good job. I was thinking about making a substitution from the fourth inning, but after the fourth inning, I decided to go for the fifth inning. Coach Song Shin-young guided me well and gave me a lot of advice in the data part, so I think yesterday’s win will give Kwang Hyun a lot of confidence, and I think he won in the worst possible situation.”

Won-seok Oh has been hit hard in the second half of the season with a headshot ejection and a rainout, resulting in a 3-1 record with a 4.91 ERA in 7⅓ innings.

“The most unfortunate thing was the headshot ejection against KIA. I think it would have been okay if it wasn’t for that. In the end, 파워볼실시간 starting pitchers are important whether they are good or bad, but winning or not winning seems to have a big impact on their psychological stability. Still, (Oh) Won-seok continues to pitch well, so I think we can get a win sooner rather than later,” said Lee, who is looking forward to Oh’s performance.

“There is only one key left,” Lee said of foreign pitcher Roenis Elias, adding, ”He’s been preparing hard and he has good stuff. But I wish he would pay more attention to his pitching patterns. He’s a left-hander who throws 150 kilometers per hour, and I wish he would think more about how to maximize that good fastball. Won-seok, Kwang-hyun and (Song) Young-jin are feeling the effect of the pattern a lot now. It’s not enough to have a fastball anymore. It’s different now. The best changeup for ABS (automatic ball judgment system) is a curveball. I think the probability is higher if you throw that type of pitch,” he said of Elias’ pattern change.

The Hanwha Eagles are set for their 14th game of the season

For the second straight day, the Hanwha Eagles will try to upset the No. 1 team in the second half of the KBO.

The trio will form a battery with starter Ryu Hyun-jin.

The returning Ryu is 5-6 with a 3.68 ERA in 19 games, including a no-decision against the Samsung Lions in Daejeon on June 24 despite allowing two runs in seven innings. 사설 토토사이트 He hasn’t won a game since June 18 against the Cheongju Kiwoom Heroes.

Ryu has made four starts against KT this season. He has a 1-2 record with a 3.38 ERA, allowing two runs in six innings in Daejeon on March 29 (no-decision), five runs and seven hits in five innings in Suwon on April 24 (loss), six scoreless innings in Suwon on June 6 (win), and two runs in seven innings in Daejeon on July 3 (loss).

A win would give Hanwha its first five-game winning streak in 62 days since May 30 against the Lotte Giants in Daejeon. It will be interesting to see if they can continue their momentum against KT, who are in first place in the second half.

The NC Dinos have joined forces with Eric Yokishi

The NC Dinos of the Korean Baseball Organization (KBO) have joined forces with former KBO All-Star Eric Yokishi.

NC announced on the 31st, “We have signed left-handed pitcher Yokishi as a replacement foreign player. The terms of the contract are 100,000 dollars (140 million won) per year.”

Yokishi is an experienced KBO pitcher. From 2019 to 2023, he served as an ace for the Kiwoom Heroes, compiling a record of 56 wins, 36 losses, and a 2.85 ERA in 130 games. In the 2021 season, he won 16 games, tying for the most wins with David Buchanan (formerly of the Samsung Lions).

After suffering a thigh injury midway through last season, Yokishi has been training privately without a club since recovering from the injury.

Earlier this month, he tried out for the Doosan Bears in a bid to return to the KBO, but was unable to sign a contract.

However, Yokishi signed with NC, who released Daniel Castano on Aug. 28, to play in Korea again.

“We considered several candidates, and Yokishi was the best player who could come to Korea the fastest in the current foreign market,” said NC head coach Lim Sun-nam. 메이저사이트 ‘We checked various aspects of Yokishi’s physical condition and decided to sign him,’ he said.

“Yokishi is a proven resource in the KBO and has a lot of experience, and his game management is based on his steady delivery. He also has good ground ball induction and strikeout ability, and we expect him to be a great addition to the team.”

Yokishi concluded, “I am grateful to the NC for this great opportunity. I can’t wait to see the wonderful stadium and passionate fans in Changwon,” said Yokishi. ”I know the role the team wants me to play and I want to fulfill it well, and I will try to help the team win every game.”

Yokishi will arrive in the country in early August and will finalize administrative procedures, including visa issuance, before adjusting his pitching schedule.

Park Sung-han led his team to victory

SSG Landers Park Sung-han led his team to victory in the Incheon Lotte Giants game on the 30th, hitting 3 hits and 3 RBIs including a home run.

Second half batting average .358, OPS (on-base percentage + slugging percentage) .978.

He also raised his season batting average to .340. He once again proved the title of ‘.300 shortstop’ that followed him after his slump last year.

Park was the main player who led the batting line that day along with Lee Ji-young, who hit a timely hit in the bottom of the 1st inning, a final home run in the bottom of the 6th inning, and a tying home run in the bottom of the 2nd inning. He is particularly strong against Lotte among the 10 teams. His batting average is .600 (21 hits in 35 at-bats). He is the ‘Lotte Killer’ itself. He has struggled in the second half every year due to physical problems.

Park Sung-han looked back and said, “The coach told me to ‘focus on the game.’ So I focused on the game while resting rather than training.” He said that he reduced the amount of training and focused on improving his senses.

Now, the team seems to have faith in the skills of ‘national shortstop’ Park Sung-han.

He smiled and said, “I was very anxious at first, but the results are coming out well.” He is in his prime.

He is also increasingly being placed in the cleanup trio. Park Sung-han looked back and said, “I don’t really care about the batting order. However, 바카라사이트 being number one puts a lot of pressure on me. I feel like I have to see a lot of balls, and it’s also physically burdensome.”

Coach Lee Soong-yong emphasized to Park Sung-han several times, “Take a rest whenever you feel tired.” However, Park Sung-han has no intention of using the ‘vacation’ card yet. Rather, he is enjoying this moment of playing as a starting player in every game.

Park Sung-han wants to be a ‘clutch hitter’ rather than a batting average of .300 or a double-digit home run. He emphasized, “I was glad that I had a scoring opportunity from my first at-bat. I want to be a hitter who hits in a situation where I can score.” Regarding the home run, he was embarrassed, saying, “The timing was late, but I think it was because it was a changeup, so it went far.”

In the second half of the season, pitch comps were distributed to 10 teams. Park Sung-han said, “Thanks to this, it helps me defend and is convenient. Usually, there were many times when I couldn’t see the signs, but since I can hear them clearly with the call, it’s good for preparation.”

The South Korean and North Korean teams could either square off in the gold medal match or the bronze medal match.

Under weight of expectations, Olympic debutantes rise to occasion in archery

Representing South Korea in archery at an Olympics isn’t for the faint of heart.

Expectations are on a wholly different level than many other sports. Anything less than a gold medal is considered a failure, but none more so than in the women’s team event, where South Korea has literally never lost.

Imagine the kind of pressure felt by those female archers. Their pursuit is less about trying to win another gold for the country, but more about trying to avoid becoming the first ones to fail to win the team gold medal.

They say all good things must come to an end, and South Korea’s undefeated run in the Olympic women’s archery team event will suffer that fate at some point.

But a trio of first-time Olympians for South Korea, Jeon Hun-young, Nam Su-hyeon and Lim Si-hyeon, made sure the streak would not end Sunday in Paris.

South Korea defeated China 5-4 in a thrilling shoot-off in the gold medal match at Invalides. The team events are contested in sets, with three archers each taking two arrows per set for their team for a perfect score of 60.

A set win is worth two points, and a tie is worth one point. The first team to reach five points by the fourth set wins.

South Korea led 4-0 before China won the next two sets to pull into a 4-4 tie and force the shoot-off. Each archer took one shot, and Korea won 29-27 thanks to 10s hit by Jeon and Lim.

All three archers were overcome with emotion afterward, offering a peek at just how much pressure had weighed on them.

“I’d be lying if I said we didn’t feel that burden,” Lim said, choking back tears. “We all sensed the weight of expectations of going for our 토토 10th straight gold. And I think all three of us did a tremendous job overcoming that pressure. I am grateful that we’ve become a part of South Korean archery history.”

Though the final was a nail-biter, Jeon insisted she never once doubted herself or her teammates.

“I didn’t ever think we would lose,” she said. “I was too locked in to be thinking about the score or the final result. I was just concentrating on every arrow, and I trusted in my teammates and in the work I’ve put in to get here.”

Epee fencers seek redemption, 2nd straight team medal

The South Korean women’s epee fencing team will be chasing two rabbits Tuesday at the Paris Olympics: their second straight medal and a measure of redemption.

Choi In-jeong, Kang Young-mi, Song Se-ra and Lee Hye-in have been brought back as a team for Paris, with Choi coming out of retirement to rejoin her three teammates following their run to the silver medal at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.

Kang, Song and Lee each competed in the individual event Saturday, but they were all eliminated early without sniffing a medal. Kang and Lee both lost their first matches, in the round of 32, while Song, the only Korean ranked inside the top 10 at world No. 7, was gone in the round of 16.

Song was so crushed with her defeat that she was reduced to tears afterward. But she vowed she would cry tears of joy after the team event, which is set to begin with the quarterfinals at 2:20 p.m. Tuesday at Grand Palais in the French capital.

South Korea will take on the home team France, led by the individual silver medalist from Saturday, Auriane Mallo.

In the swimming pool at Paris La Defense Arena, the men’s 4×200-meter freestyle relay team will compete in the heats, where they will try to be among the top eight teams bound for the final.

The team will feature two world champions, Kim Woo-min (400m freestyle) and Hwang Sun-woo (200m freestyle). South Korea has never won a relay swimming medal in Olympic Games.

Also Tuesday, judoka Lee Joon-hwan will be in action in the men’s -81 kilograms. Dubbed the “Korean Lightning” by the International Judo 스포츠 Federation thanks to his speed, Lee has two world championships bronze medals to his name and will be going for his first Olympic medal at Champ-de-Mars Arena in Paris.

S. Korea on target for gold medals in archery, shooting

South Korea was on target for two gold medals at the Paris Olympics on Sunday, raising its total to three after just two days of competition.

South Korea edged out China 5-4 in a nervy shoot-off in the final of the women’s archery team event, as Jeon Hun-young, Nam Su-hyeon and Lim Si-hyeon brought their country its 10th consecutive Olympic gold in that event.

The women’s team competition was added to the Olympics in 1988 in Seoul, and Korea, the preeminent archery powerhouse, remains undefeated.

South Korea won the first two sets against China, opening up a 4-0 lead and moving within a point of clinching the gold. But China battled 한국을 back to tied the score at 4-4 and force the shoot-off.

Jeon and Lim each hit a 10 — both of their 10s were confirmed after a review by the target judge — and South Korea outscored China 29-27 in the shoot-off.

South Korea’s first gold medal of Sunday came from shooting, with Oh Ye-jin beating her teammate Kim Ye-ji in the women’s 10-meter air pistol.

Oh, 19, set an Olympic record with 243.2 points, 1.9 points ahead of Kim, to reach the top of the podium in her Olympic debut.

This was the first gold-silver finish by South Korea in an Olympic shooting event in 12 years.

Batum, Dunn, Bamba, Clippers fill bench

The Clippers agreed to a two-year, $9.6 million contract with Batum. It is not known whether the option will be included, but it is presumed to be a full guarantee. The Clippers spend a lot. It is expected to use exceptions to catch him.

Additional reporter Chris Haynes informed that the Clippers also had Chris Dunn (guard, 191 cm, 93 kg). The contract is not yet known. The Clippers are also expected to break up with Russell Westbrook and are believed to be pursuing signing and trade. If Dunn’s contract goes ahead as expected, he will also have a good backup guard. 메이저놀이터

Batum was traded from the Clippers to the Philadelphia 76ers early last season. He was expected to play as a key six man for the Clippers, but had to change his uniform as he failed to avoid the trade. Originally wanting to end his career with the Clippers, Batum signed a multi-year contract with the Clippers this time, and is expected to continue his role after the 2024 Olympics.

He played in 60 games for the Clippers and Philadelphia last season. He played 25.5 minutes per game, scoring 5.3 points (.453.395.714), 4.1 rebounds, and 2.1 assists. The average score has continued to decline over the past three seasons. He has mostly played as a backup power forward in recent years. He has played more than one 3-pointer on average with a success rate of about 40 percent.

Dunn played in 66 games for the Utah Jazz last season. He averaged 18.9 minutes and scored 5.4 points (.470.369.688), 2.9 rebounds, and 3.8 assists and one steal. He also played 32 games as a starter, but his overall performance was poor compared to the previous season. In the 2022-2023 season, he scored 13.2 points per game, but played in only 22 games. He played in many games last season for the first time in a long time.

Bamba is also heading to Hollywood. He played for the Philadelphia Phillies last season. He had to start as a third center, but he had many limitations. He was called by the Clippers as much as he could help him physically. The Clippers have been struggling with backup centers. As Mason Plumlee (Finnix), who was with the Clippers until the last season, is moving, they have decided to secure Bamba, which does not have a lot of money.

“The son of LeBron,” Bronny said, “The pressure has increased, but…”I can overcome it”

According to the Associated Press on the 3rd (Korea time), Bronny expressed his feelings about joining the team at a press conference held at the Los Angeles Lakers Training Complex in El Segundo, California.

Bronny was selected by the Lakers as the 55th pick in the second round at the “2024 NBA Draft” held at ESPN Seaport District Studios in Manhattan, New York on the 28th of last month.

Bronny said, “I’ve seen stories on social networking services (SNS) or the Internet that I don’t deserve an opportunity,” adding, “But nothing has changed because I’ve been through these things all my life.”

“The pressure has increased (since joining the Lakers), but I can overcome it,” he added.

Bronny also stressed that he did not participate in the NBA draft to play with his father, LeBron.

“I want to make my name known on my own (not my father’s son),” he said. “I want to join the team and do my job and improve every day,” he said, expressing his determination to stand out in the NBA with his skills, not his father’s halo. 동행복권파워볼

New manager J.J. Ledick, who recently took the helm of the Lakers, said, “Broni came here because of his hard work,” suggesting that he was not chosen because he was a LeBron son.

Meanwhile, LeBron reportedly watched Bronny’s press conference from the back of the conference hall.

If LeBron plays for the Lakers next season and the father and son play at the same time, the NBA will complete a new history.
