Chung Kwan Jang defeats IBK in full set…Burkirich-Mega combine for 53 points

Women’s volleyball’s Kwanjang Jeong won a hard-fought victory over IBK.

The team defeated IBK IBK 3-2 (25-20 18-25 25-13 23-25 15-11) in the first match of Group B of the Women’s Division at the 2024 Tongyeong-Dodram Cup Professional Volleyball Tournament at the Tongyeong Gymnasium in Gyeongnam on Tuesday.

The match was a back-and-forth affair, with Jungkwanjang taking one set and IBK winning the next.

The dramatic developments in the middle and late stages of the fourth set in particular thrilled the crowd.

Trailing 11-7, Jung Kwan-jang scored 11 consecutive points to take a 21-17 lead, but IBK responded with six straight points to regain the lead at 23-21.

At 24-23, IBK fought off a late rally by Victoria Danchak (registered name Victoria) to take the lead for good.

However, it was Jeong Kwan-jang who was the eventual winner.

At 9-8 in the fifth set, Chung pulled to within three points with a late attack from opposing serve Bum Sil and Vanya Vukiric.

Keeping the score close, Chung ended the match at 14-11 with a quick opener from Vukiric.

Vukirich, who played for Korea Expressway Corporation last season, finished with 31 points, including four blocks, in his first game in a Jungkwanjang uniform, while second-year Mega added 22 points.

Pyo Seung-ju, who joined Jungkwanjang as compensation for free agent Lee So-young, also contributed 13 points for the home team.

For IBK, Victoria struggled with 31 points, while Lee Joo-ah and Yook Seo-young had 10 points apiece and Lee So-young finished with seven points.

Heungkuk Life, which has rebuilt its roster ahead of the season, showed good chemistry.

Heungkuk Life swept invitational team Prestige International Aranmare (Japan) in straight sets 3-0 (25-19 25-18 25-19) in the first match of the Women’s Group B earlier in the day.

Heungkuk Life acquired setter Lee Ig-eun and libero Shin Yeon-kyung in the off-season trade market.

The team also added foreign attacker Tutku Bourge Yuzgengk (real name Tutku) and Asian middle blocker Hwang Ruirei (real name Ruirei).

Kim, 36, was as aggressive as ever on the night with 17 kills (51.85% attack percentage), while Tutku added a team-high 18 digs.

Setter Lee Ig-eun made 38 kills on 31.13 percent team attack efficiency. Shin added 17 digs and 12 receptions.

Jung Yoon-ju, a 21-year-old rookie who was selected as Kim’s diagonal attacker, also contributed eight kills (42.11 percent attack percentage).

After a sluggish start to the first set, Heungkuk Life took the lead at 13-13 after a quick open by Jung Yoon-ju, a follow-up attack by Tutku and a failed video review request by the opponent.

Kim Yeon-kyung then gave her team a set point opportunity at 23-18 with a center back attack. After giving up one point, Jeong Yoon-ju scored a blocker touchout.

In the second set, Heungkuk Life seized the momentum from the start and cruised through the match. Aranmare self-destructed with nine unforced errors.

After not scoring a service point in the first and second sets, Heungkuk Life recorded three service aces in the third set to secure the shutout victory.

On the day, Aranmare was unable to overcome the barrier of Heungkuk Life, giving up nine blocked points. 카지노 사이트 추천
