The once world-class women’s team has lost 27 straight matches in the Volleyball Nations League (VNL), while the men’s team has struggled even on the Asian stage. The Korean volleyball team is looking to turn things around with a new coach.
The Korean Volleyball Association announced on Monday that it is “openly recruiting new leaders for the men’s and women’s national volleyball teams.” Managers and coaches can apply as a team, and the application period is open until 6 p.m. on March 28.
After reviewing the documents, the association will conduct an interview evaluation by the Performance Improvement Committee and deliberations by the 메이저 토토사이트 National Team Head Coach Selection Committee in March.
“Last year was a year of great disappointment for volleyball fans and volleyball players as the national team performed below expectations,” said Oh Han-nam, president of the Korean Volleyball Association, at the 2024 General Assembly and 2024 Volleyball Night on March 31, according to the association. “With the determination to start anew for the rebirth of Korean volleyball, we will appoint the best leaders to lead the men’s and women’s national teams in March.”

The federation is looking for a new head coach for the 2026 Asian Championships, which will qualify the team for the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi and Nagoya and the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. The plan is to select a coach who will lead the national team by maximizing Korean characteristics and developing players who can win international competitions, as well as a coach who has extensive knowledge of international volleyball trends and can communicate with players.

The contract period for the newly selected coaches will be from the start of their national team coaching duties in 2024 to the end of the international tournament in 2026.
