For Christmas 2023, 120 employees at Tesuk Casino in Santa Fe, New Mexico, are decorating the Angel Tree. Each casino department adopts a live Christmas tree and decorates it with a theme of their choice. Teams from all departments gathered to celebrate the fifth anniversary of 18 freshly cut pine trees spread throughout the casino. Department teams were busy secretly planning decorative themes until everything gathered during Thanksgiving week, as the trees were unveiled and shown by the public for the first time. Starting from Christmas week, angel trees will be donated and delivered to Pueblo of community families in the Tesuk region who may not be able to send them.
A staff committee consisting of volunteers Shona Giron, James Isaacs, Jamie Williams, Peter Romero, Anthony Thomas and Don Kennedy planned the Angel Tree project as well as holiday decorations for the entire casino building. The Commission wanted to combine traditional holiday decorations with the participation of all employees, as well as giving back to the community.
