Woori Bank becomes the first team to reach the 10-win milestone.
Asan Woori Bank Wooriwon defeated Incheon Shinhan Bank Esbud 72-52 in the third round of the Woori Bank Wooriwon 2023-2024 Women’s Professional Basketball League at 텍사스홀덤 Incheon Dowon Gymnasium on Nov. 11. It was their fourth straight win. They moved back into sole possession of first place with a 10-1 record. Last-place Shinhan Bank dropped its third straight game to fall to 1-10 after its first win of the season.
Woori Bank was led by its one-two punch of Kim Dan-bi and Park Ji-hyun with 27 and 21 points, respectively. They also had double-doubles with 10 and 14 rebounds, respectively. The duo plays the ace role and utilizes their athleticism to contribute to the rebounding effort. Transfer student Lee Myung-kwan added 11 points.
Shinhan Bank has its share of injuries, but the team is essentially missing Han Chae-jin. Kim Sonia’s pattern of playing and losing continues. She was held to just two points in 26 minutes and 43 seconds by Woori Bank’s defense, which knew her well. Goo Seul finished with 15 points and seven rebounds, including three three-pointers, and Kang Gye-ri had 12 points.
