Heungkuk Life’s Kim Yeon-kyung and Kim Soo-ji vowed to have no regrets as they welcome ‘spring volleyball’ together for the first time since they started playing volleyball.
Heungkuk Life swept GS Caltex 3-0 (25-17 25-16 25-18) in the final match of the Dodram 2023-24 V-League Women’s Round 6 on Friday at Samsan World Gymnasium in Incheon, South Korea.
With the win, Heungkuk Life improved to 28-8 (79 points) and moved into first place, ahead of Hyundai E&C (77 points), which has played one game less. Heungkuk Life will clinch the top spot in the regular season for the second consecutive year if Hyundai E&C loses its final match against Pepper Savings Bank on Saturday.
With Heungkuk Saengsaeng clinching an early berth in spring volleyball, regardless of whether they finish first in the regular season or not, Kim Yeon-kyung and Kim Soo-ji will be playing in the postseason together for the first time.
Although they played together in elementary and high school, they never played in the same uniform in the pros. But when Kim signed a three-year contract with Heungkuk Life as a free agent ahead of this season, the two were able to play together on a professional team for the first time.

As they are playing spring volleyball together for the first time, they are very determined.
Kim, in particular, led the team to a first-place finish in the regular season last year and led the team to a second straight victory in the championship match, but the team was unable to stop the three-game losing streak in the final match and suffered a runner-up finish.
