Kim Seung-ki’s Sono sets new 3-point record

Sono made 126 three-pointers in the first round. That’s the most in a single round ever.

Goyang Sono hit 19 three-pointers in a 93-84 home win over Busan KCC on Dec. 12. With their first back-to-back wins of the season, Sono finished the first round with a 4-5 record.

Sono had previously made 17 three-pointers against Daegu KOGAS on Nov. 11. It was his second straight game with 17 or more 3-pointers. It’s actually the second-longest streak in franchise history.

Ulsan Mobis made 18 and 24 3-pointers in the final two games of the 2003-2004 season. However, Mobis was playing to become Woo Ji-won’s three-point leader. This is not a normal game.

Anyang KGC Ginseng made 17 and 18 three-pointers in their games against Seoul Samsung on December 12 and Seoul SK on December 16, 2021, respectively. In fact, it was their first two consecutive games with 17+ 3-pointers. On a normal game basis, Sono is second.

With his 36 three-pointers in the weekend series, Sono now has 126 total three-pointers in the first round.

Having already surpassed the all-time first-round record of 104 three-pointers, Sono also set a new record for most three-pointers in a single round.

The previous record for most 3-pointers in a single round was 122, set by Sono’s predecessor, Carot, in Game 3 last season. This was followed by KGC Ginseng’s 120 in Game 3 of the 2021-2022 season.

Kim Seung-ki Sono was the head coach of KGC Ginseng in the 2021-2022 season and Carot last season.

He is the head coach of all three teams with 120+ 3-pointers in a single round.

The most 3-pointers made in a single season in history is 623 by Carot last season. Sono is on pace to reach 756 3-pointers if he continues his first-round form.

Let’s see if Sono can surpass Carot’s 623 and reach the 700 mark.

It’s worth noting that Lee Jung-hyun and Han Ho-bin 토토사이트 each made six 3-pointers on the day, marking the fifth time in history that the same teammate has made six or more 3-pointers in a game.
