K-League 2 Seongnam’s Jang Hyo-Joon gets post-sentence reduction…

“minimized the impact of the tackle”

Seongnam FC defender Jang Hyo-joon, who was sent off for an on-field tackle, has received a post-match review and will be able to play in the next game.

The Korean Professional Football Association announced on Tuesday that it has decided to reduce the suspension of Seongnam’s Jang Hyo-joon after holding its 11th penalty committee meeting.

Jang was sent off in the 17th round of the K League 2 home match against FC Anyang at Tancheon Sports Complex on March 15 for a late injury-time tackle that hit Anyang’s Park Jong-hyun in the shin.

The Korea Football Association’s refereeing committee held a professional evaluation panel meeting and acknowledged that Jang’s stud touched Park Jong-hyun’s shin, but decided that the penalty should be reduced after the fact, saying that Jang bent his knee to minimize the impact and protect his opponent just before contact.

The Federation’s Penalty Committee decided to reduce Jang’s suspension based on the assessment of the Korea Football Association Referees Committee and the opinion of the Federation’s Technical Committee.

Jang’s suspension, fine, and team demerit points for his ejection were all waived.

Jang will be eligible to play in the match against Suwon Samsung in Round 18. 먹튀검증
