HWANG HEE-CHAN DONATES ANOTHER 50 MILLION WON TO BUCHEON, WHERE HE DREAMED OF PLAYING FOR THE NATIONAL TEAM AS A CHILD

South Korean men’s soccer player Hwang Hee-chan, 27, visited Bucheon, Gyeonggi-do, where he first started playing soccer, and donated another amount of money for the underprivileged .According to the city of Bucheon on Sunday, the national soccer player donated 50 million won to the Bucheon Hope Foundation after visiting Bucheon City Hall. Since 2020, Hwang has donated 50 to 60 million won annually to low-income people in Bucheon. So far, he has donated a total of 210 million won to Bucheon.

The city of Bucheon, together with the Bucheon Hope Foundation and the Gyeonggi South Regional Headquarters of the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH), is using Hwang’s donation to support the “Safe Dream Housing” program, which provides free temporary housing for up to six months to households facing eviction due to rent arrears or who have been victims of rental fraud. Originally from Chuncheon, Gangwon Province, Hwang spent his childhood in Bucheon, where he first started playing soccer at Kachiul Elementary School. His family still resides in Bucheon.
