A record number of Go fans gathered at a Go event organized by Hankook Genesis together with KB Bank and Uijeongbu City. Hankook Origin announced today that the ‘2023 KB Kookmin Bank Uijeongbu Sudam’ held at the Uijeongbu Arts Center in Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi-do, on ‘Go Day’ was a huge success, with 125 professional players and more than 2,000 go fans participating. In the main event, 125 professional players, including 9th dan Choi Cheol-han and 2nd dan Cho Yeon-woo, a popular Go YouTuber, played 8v1 games with 1,000 Go fans who had signed up in advance. The event, which was attended by people of all ages, from children to people in their 70s, closed early due to oversubscription within eight days of registration. The Uijeongbu Soudam also featured a variety of other events, including autograph sessions with Korean go legend Lee Chang-ho 9 dan and Hangzhou Asian Games medalist Oh Yoo-jin 9 dan, and a go exhibition. The organizers 슬롯게이밍 gave all participants a commemorative go set and a 2024 go calendar as souvenirs.
