FIGURE SKATER SCORES ‘66.30’ FOR THIRD PLACE IN SHORT AT SENIOR GP

South Korean figure women’s single “Ganpan” Lee Hae-in (Sehwa Girls’ High School) cruised to her first individual medal at the International Ice Skating Union (ISU) Senior Grand Prix. Lee scored 33.99 technical elements (TES) and 32.31 artistic elements (PCS) for a total of 66.30 points in the women’s single short program at the Grand Prix de France, the third event of the 2023-2024 ISU Senior Grand Prix, at the Angers Ice Park in Angers, France, on Wednesday (Feb. 3) to finish third behind Isabo Levito (USA – 71.38 points) and Anastasia Kubanova (Georgia – 66.73 points).

Just 5.08 points behind leader Levito and 0.43 points behind second-place Kubanova, Lee will attempt to pull off an upset in the free skate on Thursday. Lee, who made her senior debut at the World Championships in March 2021, has yet to win a medal at the Senior Grand Prix despite outstanding results at the Four Continents Championships in February and the World Championships in March. After finishing fourth in both Senior Grand Prix events last season and missing out on a medal at the medal table, Hyeon In Lee’s third-place finish in the short program gave her the green light for her first medal of the season. Her performance left something to be desired in her jump rotation.

After earning 0.99 points for her first jump, a double axel (base score of 3.30), Lee lost 2.11 points for her second jump, a triple lutz-triple toeloop combination (base score of 9.26), for lack of rotation. A triple flip (base score of 5.83) performed in the counting section was ruled a quarter-landing (lack of rotation at the 90-degree level of the jump), resulting in a 0.30 GOE loss. He finished his performance with a sitspin, a change foot combination spin, and a step 토토사이트 sequence, all executed at Level 4.
