Busan KCC extend its home winning streak

Professional basketball’s Busan KCC beat last-place Seoul Samsung to extend its home winning streak to three games.

KCC defeated Samsung 98-85 on Tuesday at Sajik Gymnasium in Busan in their first home game of the 2023-2024 Korean Basketball Association regular season.

Fifth-ranked KCC improved to 27-22 after winning its second straight game following a win over Suwon KT on Nov. 17. KCC, which clinched a sixth-place playoff spot, narrowed its lead over fourth-place Seoul SK (29-20) to two games.

It also extended its winning streak at home to three games and improved to 4-1 against Samsung this season.

KCC has been destructive in five of its last six games, including this one, scoring 90 points or more.

Last-place Samsung, which failed to win back-to-back games, 스포츠토토 dropped its 38th game in a row.

KCC was led by Lee Seung-hyun with a 20-point, 10-rebound double-double, while Lee grabbed eight rebounds to go along with his 17 points.

Alize DeShawn Johnson was a beast on offense with 13 points, nine rebounds and seven assists, while Lee Geun-hwi (12 points) and Heo Woong (10 points) also scored in double figures.

Samsung was led by Ishmael Lane with 23 points and Kofi Coburn with 15 points.

KCC entered the final quarter with a 78-67 lead and never relinquished it.

Lee was the answer, scoring nine points in the fourth quarter alone, while Johnson was a defensive presence.

With the victory in hand, KCC could afford to rest Heo Woong and Ragan Ah in the final minutes.

Rookie Lee Joo-young, who came off the bench, celebrated his birthday with a layup on a daring breakaway.
