Sandy’s Racing and Gaming will officially open tomorrow, Oct. 26. But impatient players are expected to line up much earlier. In this regard, John Marshall, president of Sandy’s Racing & Gaming, commented. “With world-class game floors, locally served dining options, a range of entertainment stages and an incredible BetMGM sportsbook lounge, Sandy’s will be the region’s top entertainment destination. There’s nothing else like Sandy’s and I can’t wait for everyone to experience it.”

In addition, people over the age of 21 will have the opportunity to play almost 700 slot-like games, watch live sporting events directly on three movie theater-sized screens, and experience magical night music performances while tasting high-quality food and drinks from Sandy’s ale, Big Sandy’s burger, and delicious homemade pies that will soon become popular.

Construction on the aforementioned casino project officially began in April this year at a 75,000 sq ft gaming facility found at 10699 U.S. 60 in Ashland. Leading the construction are Kentucky-based Tri-State Building Trade and D.W. Wilburn Construction.

In addition, over 300 local union employees were given jobs during the construction of the aforementioned casino project, and 90% of all supplies and materials were developed in the United States. When it officially opens, Sandy will hire nearly 250 additional local citizens. In a related development, Larry Lucas, president of Revolution Racing, which developed the project in partnership with the Kentucky Quarter Horse Racing Association and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, said, “We are incredibly proud to be part of the tri-state community and even more proud to support the region with new jobs and new tax revenues.”
